A bit about me

Hi, I'm Kyalie Tapper, a registered psychologist based in the Bega Valley on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, where I live with my family. I have a background in counselling and experience working with individuals across the lifespan in community, mental health, education, and private psychological practice settings.

My clinical experience includes supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and complex trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, stress and burnout, and identity-related concerns. I also have experience in cognitive and neurodiversity assessment.

I aim to provide a warm and trauma-informed space where you can feel safe and supported to explore what is happening in your life. A core focus of my therapeutic work is helping people to live more authentically by developing greater self-awareness, strengthening a sense of agency and control over their lives and creating meaningful change. This may involve exploring relationship dynamics, coping patterns or underlying beliefs that are no longer serving you, or that may be keeping you feeling stuck.

I draw on evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills

  • Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Qualifications

  • Master of Professional Psychology (Distinction), Monash University

  • Bachelor of Science (Honours Psychology) – First Class Honours, Monash University

  • Graduate Diploma of Psychology, Monash University

  • Master of Counselling, Australian Catholic University

  • Bachelor of Social Science, Australian Catholic University
